I hate comment spam. Even with great plugins like Akismet, some comment spam always seems to leak through. The worst is compliment spam – those fake messages designed to prey on your vanity.
I always end up doing a Google “exact phrase” search to check to see if a comment is really for me and not just being spammed all over the web, but it’s a little tedious to do that for several comments. So I created the O RLY Comment Spam Search plugin for WordPress. It adds a little “O RLY?” link to the list of comment actions after Approve, Spam, Delete and Edit that takes you right to the search results.
Not the world’s most impressive coding effort, but I find it useful. Please download, install and have fun fighting spam:
